The Linnean Society Award
Established in 1788 at Burlington House, London, the Linnean Society is the world's oldest active biological society for the scientific study of plants and animals. It was named after Carolus Linnaeus (1707-78), a Swedish scientist who invented a system for naming living things. This method, called binomial nomenclature, gives each species a unique, two-word Latin name consisting of the genus name and the species name. The library and scientific collections of Linnaeus are kept by the Society. The Society is accessible to anyone in the general public interested in natural history .
I was very excited and humbled to be awarded the Jill Smythies Award (for outstanding diagnostic illustrations in botanical art).

It means so much to me, but reflects the knowledge, encouragement , inspiration and calibre of the various people I have been lucky to work with over the years, so it is very much a team effort.
