"Plants of the Qur’ān" has won 'Garden Book of the Year' Award
Judges' Comments:
"The entries for this category were outstanding and it was very difficult to decide the winner and shortlist, but this collaboration of author and illustrator has produced a remarkable, unique book. This book invites its readers in with warmth and knowledge, on a breathtaking journey of discovery. A truly inspirational book."
The annual Garden Media Guild awards celebrate the best in garden media communications. The ceremony took place at the Savoy Hotel in London and Dr Shahina Ghazanfar was there to receive the Winners award on behalf of so many of us involved in the book.
Very exciting news and recognises the massive effort by so many people behind the scenes. Constant support, design concepts, calligraphy and pattern work from Inga Clemens , mentoring and invaluable support from Beverly Allen, total backing from Lydia White heading up Kew Publishing, Christine Beard on book layout , proof reading Ruth Linklater, production management Georgina Hills, copy editing Mathew Seal, New Zealand Micrographics for artwork scanning and great work of Trento, the Italian printers. Plus, constant support from family and special friends through the many years it took for the artwork. I could not have done it without them and a massive thank you to all involved.
